Both Lab-Grown and traditionally mined diamonds are made from crystallised carbon. The only difference between them is that mined diamonds form underground, whilst Lab-Grown Diamonds are grown above ground.
Lab-Grown Diamonds are identical to naturally occurring diamonds in their composition, appearance, and chemistry. All Lab-Grown Diamonds are type IIA. The main impurity found in mined diamonds is nitrogen, which can create a grey hue in the stones. By comparison, Lab-Grown Diamonds contain zero nitrogen, meaning the stones are purer.
